I am no longer an active club DJ however do shows on Mixcloud and Portsmouth Underground Radio Tuesdays & Sundays 2-4 pm, plus I still do a great deal behind the scenes for my own enjoyment. Although I worked for many years in clubs & some very good venues, on average 3 or 4 nights per-week and consider myself very lucky.
Started with a basic system and worked up to SL 1200s & Super Nova mixer. I still have these as one hell of a system. I learnt to mix on this equipment but still do not consider myself a mix DJ as I also believe in good voice links are important but do some mixing on my shows.
I also have SC 6000s & Xone 96 Mixer this can been seen on my weekly shows on PUR/Mixcloud.
So I play Dance music from the 70s right up to the present, newer ones are a little more selective, aimed at the slightly older clubber. The Dance music is tight in terms of voice links and from one track to another, (remove poor starts) plus there is some mixing too
