Description
It’s James Brown’s birthday! The Godfather would have been 80 years old, and we do our best to represent for him Funky Corners style. We also pay tribute to Chris Kelly by playing not one, but two Kris Kross tracks. A first for the show. If that weren’t enough, Johnny Speed makes his first appearance on the show.
The Crate Highlight is devoted to James Brown, and we play you FOUR of his songs in which BDP sampled for the track “South Bronx.”
Other selections include: The Bamboos, Curtis Mayfield, Flavor Flav, Mack B. Dog, Professor Griff, and Kool Moe Dee.
