We drop some grimy underground rap in Show #151, along with the funk and a nice beats selection. We don’t forget about the reggae, as we round off the show with a roots/hip hop fusion set.
For our Crate Highlight, we drop the super-funky “Action Speaks Louder Than Words” by the New Orleans-based soul group, Chocolate Milk. We spin about a half hour’s worth of tracks that used it sample-wise.
Selections include: Buckshot & 9th Wonder, Chuck D, O.C., Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Grant Green, Mike James Kirkland, Mandrill, BudaMunk, DJ Mentos, and Dustmotes.
