Description
The reggae is back! (Not that it ever went anywhere). Wheels starts the show with some dubby, rootish, slow hip-hoppy dancehall type-stuff. Rap and funk finish out the first hour, and pretty much the remainder of the program.
We once again feature James Brown during the Crate Highlight segment of the show. This time it’s the track “Popcorn With A Feeling.” Find out who sampled it, halfway through the program.
Selections include: 3 Melancholy Gypsys, Barry White & The Love Unlimited Orchestra, Crucial Conflict, Digital Underground, Dillinger, Heavy D & The Boyz, Jay Dee, Kid Beyond, King Tubby, Kool Keith & Mr. Sche, LMNO, The Lost Generation, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Pimp C, Queen Latifah, RZA & MF Doom, Spice 1, Three 6 Mafia, Saul Williams, and Dengaryu.
