Description
Show #124 starts with a bit of jazzy funk then moves on to the underground hip hop. We transition into a selection of downtempo beats, then move forward, back in time, to Funky Corners’ bread & butter; old school hip hop.
On the jazzed-up funk tip, we bring you the Bobbi Humphrey in our Crate Highlight segment. It was most notoriously sampled for the Ice-T classic “New Jack Hustler.”
Selections include: 2Pac, Biz Markie, Blackalicious, Fatback Band, Donny Hathaway, Clutchy Hopkins, Thom Janusz, Kid Capri, Little Brother, Lone Catalysts, MC Shan, Moka Only, Mux Mool, Oddisee, Skinny Boys, Slick Rick, St. Germain, Steady B, and Eddie Henderson.
