Description
We’re representing conscience rap in Funky Corners #118, along with a healthy dose of funky soul. Some classic hip hop is thrown in, plus a big chunk of instrumentals. Once again, Jordan checks in and rolls with T_Wheels through the last quarter of the show.
We take a break from the funk, and play an original blues cut in the Crate Highlight segment of the program. Amongst the artists that sampled it are Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, and Fugees.
Selections include: 1773, Boogie Monsters, Chocolate Snow, Herbie Flowers, Fred Wesley & The J.B.’s, Grieves, Headhunters, Talib Kweli, Love Unlimited Orchestra, Johnny Madwreck, Curtis Mayfield, Mr. J. Bedeiros, Nightmares On Wax, Jimmy Norman, RJD2, and J-Zone.
