Description
In contrast to last week’s fast-paced episode, Funky Corners #111 is decidedly more laid-back tempo-wise. We keep it fresh with the Backpacker-style hip hop, along with some instrumental funk, plus a freestyle sesh with Jordan Hill.
For our Crate Highlight, we dissect DJ Shadow’s “Midnight In A Perfect World,” and recount five songs that were sampled in its creation.
Selections include: Ahmad, Brand Nubian, Deltron 3030, Ghostface Killah, The Last Poets, Mickey & The Soul Generation, Mos Def, Onyx, Pancea, Peanut Butter Wolf, Prince Paul, Raw Fusion, Roy Ayers Ubiquity, War, and Quincy Jones.
