Description
Bill Mitchell (1934-1997): The Man Who Wrestled Pumas...Probably"
Miriam Margoyles presents a documentary that profiles the career of Canadian voice over artist Bill Mitchell.
He was a Soho fixture and could often be spotted between the Coach and Horses and The Blue Posts all dressed in black from his shoes and socks to his big hat and sunglasses. (He claimed he 'didn’t want to be noticed'!).
Bill and other voiceover artists Robert ‘Jesus’ Powell and Tom Baker (then Dr Who) hung out in Soho pubs waiting for their agents for studio work.
Famous for his film, beer and denim adverts he led an excessive lifestyle in order to preserve his trademark gravelly voice and remains known as one of the greats of the industry.
With contributions from family, friends and colleagues including Bills daughter Amanda McAllister, Zoot Money,Chris and Kenny Clayton.
