The Gent Jazz Festival is a multi-day jazz festival in the Belgian city of Ghent. The music festival takes place every year in July at the Bijlokesite. It was first organized in 2002 under the name Blue Note Festival and then took place in the Gravensteen and the Bijloke. In 2006 the name changed to Blue Note Records Festival, in 2008 it changed in the name Gent Jazz Festival.
At Gent Jazz Festival, both international mainstream and avant-garde jazz are 'served', as fusion of jazz with other musical genres. During the early years the festival was always with the Ghent Festivities. In 2011, during the tenth edition, the Gent Jazz Festival attracted 38,000 visitors over 8 festival days.
