Wasted Energy Record Factory. Under this working title, we started an adventure in 1993 that – against our initial expectations – still plays an essential role in the history of Belgian jazz to this day. What initially started as a one-off support for the Bruges pianist Kris Defoort, grew into a renowned label, which today (in 2017) houses more than 250 musicians and has reached the mark of 150 titlels. Over the past 25 years we have invested in and offered opportunities to Belgian jazz talent. Several very young jazz musicians grew together with us into established values in the landscape. A look at the almost endless list of musicians who have already appeared on our label, reads like an encyclopedic overview of Belgian jazz between 1993-2022.
