Esinam Dogbatse is a Belgian-Ghanaian multi-instrumentalist based in Brussels. From an early age she became fascinated with music. Piano was her first main instrument, but for practical reasons while on tour and on the road, Esinam soon opted for the flute. As ESINAM she creates a completely unique musical world, full of rhythms, grooves, melodies and loops. Because she is guided solely by sounds, ESINAM succeeds in mixing her soulful voice with traditional African percussion, combined here and there with electronic influences and supplemented with lively melodies and improvisations on flute. Her compositions also reveal the diverse geographic, cultural and musical influences she received through her personal history and through multiple travels, encounters, tours and collaborations. ESINAM started her solo career as a “one woman band” but in recent years has also gathered other musicians around her to form a full-fledged live band. This mix was broadcast on www.nessradio.com
