Anneleen Boehme from Izegem started with double bass lessons when she was twelve. She started studying both classical and jazz music, but eventually chose the jazz program of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague to start her higher studies in music. She started there in 2007 and was taught by Hein van de Geyn, Frans Van der Hoeven and Janos Bruneel. She completed her master studies at the conservatory of Antwerp with Nicolas Thys. She is the bass player of the well-known Belgian jazz trio LABtrio (with Lander Gyselinck on drums and Bram De Looze on piano), which was founded in 2007. Boehme is now unpacking her 'dream project': the nine-person Grand Picture Palace. A jazz quintet and a string quartet that bring different loves together. Boehme leads and plays bass with verve, and wrote compositions that break down genre walls as powerfully as they are elegant. This mix was broadcast on www.nessradio.com
