On this weeks show of The Global Underground, I will be playing calm and meditative, sounds from far and away places. You'll hear the cat's cradle guitar sound of Baaba Maal and Mansour Seck. I also play Vancouver Sleep Clinic, the wondrous piano sounds of Keith Jarrett and the individual guitar sounds of Leo Kottke and Tommy Emmanuel. There's also the beseeching voice and jazz oud of Tunisian Dhafer Youssef. whose music will take you to somewhere else (another country, or just another room?). Last on the roll call are the sublime sounds of a harp and Kora collaboration between Catrin Finch and Sekou Keita. Tune in for some calm and soothing sounds.
