This week's show features the silky voice of Nigerian world superstar Burna Boy, blues great Albert King, gravelly voiced Tom Waits, alongside Congolese super group Zaiko Langa Langa, who won the revered status of 'best ever' band in that land of fabled singers and performers. I also showcase Kora virtuoso Toumani Diabate, with his Synmetric orchestra, made up of the best of the Mande regions musicians; plus Ethiopian singer Aster Aweke, and Irish legend Christy Moore.
I also play music from Turkmenistan, sweeping romantic sound of the group Ashkhabad. This weeks show makes no mention of the Co word..........(Country and western ?!). You are probably inside, but it is sunny here on The Global Underground, you may not be able to travel, but your ears can!
