Tonight OUR POETRY: The Music of Being Human celebrates its first birthday. Yay!!!
At the Open Mic on May 31st 2023, the brilliant Brendan McLoughlin recited his poem 'Shikino Uta', too long, I had thought, for a 30 minute show. However, pin-drop silent listening and then a standing ovation persuaded me that some long poems are too good to miss.
So tonight's show features that masterpiece from Brendan and some of the greatest poems of the past year.
Avril Gray, Robert Marsh, Helen Matthews, Ron Ogilvie, Amy Kemp-Jones, Brendan McLoughlin, Katie Campbell, Trevor Breedon, Vicki Callanan and James Cork comprise the show. Look out for further celebratory shows including so much more brilliant poetry.
