OUR POETRY: The Music of Being Human explores and celebrates poetic voices around Deal, around Kent and around The World. This week we celebrate Mr Mark Crump and his glamorous assistant, Lesley, as they present the epic poem 'The Invitation'. Since that deals with complex relationships between friends the show covers a number of difficult or quirky social situations. Our poets this week are Charlotte Daly, Jonny Jahlfrezi, Georgina Koubel, Chris Bell, Caroline Page, Mark Crump, Amy Kemp-Jones, Robert Marsh, Katie Campbell and Colin Guest (reading a Charles Bukowski poem.) Once again it features a number of 'live' performances from the recent Open Mic to illustrate what a safe space it is for any new poet to try their work out. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to make this show and to compere the Open Mics - every new poet, indeed every new poem, is so exciting!
