OUR POETRY: The Music of Being Human #55

Hi there, Poetry Lovers,
Here’s this week’s OUR POETRY: The Music of Being Human – on Deal Radio (www.dealradio.co.uk) and now at the new time of 7.00pm every Wednesday – and still exploring and celebrating poetic voices around Deal, around Kent and around the world.

This week’s featured artist is Setareh Ebrahimi. Brighton-born, currently resident in Ramsgate and of Iranian heritage, Setareh is well placed to write about family life, the UK experience and what’s occurring around the world from the vantage point of a brown woman.

Alongside her, Brendan McLoughlin, Maggie Harris, Richard Ormrod Jeffrey Loffman, Katie Campbell and Ian Harding look at the many complex variables of history, geography, (Empire) and class – accidents of birth for every individual – which combine and conspire to shape individual identity, our personal experience and aspirations also playing their part.
