In April 1977, to promote the release of Southside Johnny & Asbury Jukes 2nd Album, “This Time t’s for Real”, Johnny & Ronnie Spector recorded an interview at Alpha Studios in Philly for Superstar Radio Network. Interview was conducted by Sonny Fox (the Rock DJ, not the Wonderama host) & set up by Lee Abrams, who’s tightening of formats has contributed the blandness of most commercial radio that still lingers today. The interview was pressed onto a vinyl with a handful of complete songs by EPIC records & sent out to radio stations. it's extremely rare, not even listed on Discogs. There’s no recordings of it I can find out there. This copy is from WSIM in Red Bank (suburb of Chattanooga) Tennessee, which at the time was a free form rock station, that was purchased a year later and switched to one of Lee Abrams’ AOR monstrosities that failed & a few years later became The Rhythm of the City, Jet 94! So as a treat in honor of Ronnie Spector, I’ve posted it here for you to enjoy!
