Conduit unites a collection of anthropophonic and natural sounds gathered from
wetlands restored under high tension power lines in Greentree Park of Kirkwood,
Missouri. At the entrance to the park is a pond that gathers water from a creek
that cascades down its length. At the other end is a humming electrical power
substation that gathers electrical energy from the power lines suspended
overhead. On its sides, the wetlands are hemmed in by steep bluffs and ball
fields. The drone of the electrical power substation and the sound of the creek
compete for sonic attention as one travels a path through the territory.
