Language acquisition in early childhood is one of the great linguistic mysteries. How do babies learn their commmunity's languages ust by listening? Considering the struggles many adults face in language learning, even with sepcific language educational resources, how do babies learn so quickly? Are babies born with a Language Acquisition Device (as chomsky calls it) which disappears after early childhood or is language transmitted to each generation purely by example?
