Description
We are excited for this month’s episode and we welcome Nurifeles, a newly formed ensemble from Berlin with musical instruments: qanun, violin, oud and percussion, consisting only of FLINTA members. The connection of the name as well as the music with the Armenian and Greek tradition, and also the desire for the activation of FLINTA people in the traditional music space—this is why we chose the name: inspired by the Greek “Nymfes” and “Nefeles,” referring to the goddess of clouds and rain, and in resonance with the Armenian rain goddess Ninar—also known as Nar or Nuri — the name reflects our connection to both Greek and Armenian tradition while symbolizing fertility, nature, and feminine creative force.
