Kawa is a Nairobi-based DJ/curator, and wannabe musicologist. Sayari Sikhupi is the expression of (their) myriad musically-induced visions of alternate Africas.
Their guest mix is a recording of their opening set from the after-party of the 2025 edition of the Kilele Summit, a symposium on Music Tech & Innovation in East Africa, held in Nairobi, Kenya.
Their mix that kicks off from minute 30 onwards features tracks from the likes of BRC, JIALING, Amor Satyr, Siu Mata, Wost, CRDDR, and Brenda exploring genres from UK Bass & Breaks, to Baile Funk & Guaracha, and even Juke/Footwork.
