For this special episode, Manon has gathered mainly – but not only – soundtracks
used in Italian exploitation film productions of the 1960s and 1970s. The
tracks, throughout this ninety minute show include compositions from a variety
of exploitation subgenres including giallo, mondo and spaghetti western films.


The exploitation film was initially designed to run as the second film of a
double feature. Productions didn’t really explode until the 60’s and 70’s
however, with the relaxation of content censorship. Typically, an exploitation
film is characterised by the use of lurid content to exploit viewers desire to
see such things in a time where most major studio releases were not pushing
