Description
This EP is initiated by Sarnt Utamachote and features 3 Burmese female artists in exile: Snow Hnin Ei Hlaing based in Berlin; Pi-oux in the Netherlands; and Pinky Htut Aung in France. The episode includes music by Pi-oux and Pinky, one from a Southeast Asian producer, as well as tracks related to Myanmar’s pro-democracy anti-military movement—especially after the 2021 military coup.
In this episode, the artists reflect on the ongoing oppression and violence in Myanmar, now further exacerbated by the recent earthquake in March 2025. They also discuss the role of noise and experimental music in their lives before exile, and share insights into current initiatives supporting democracy, activism, and female agency.
This show originally aired on Cashmere Radio.
