Arts of the Working Class presents a foundational prototype, a trust for
aesthetic, social and economic values, an interventionist group for a joyful
transformation of exploitative and precarious working conditions in the arts, a
community-driven response to our shared vulnerability.
Rewriting history from the 19th century and the Parisian Salon des Refusés, AWC
invites everyone who has been refused by the capitalist system to join L'Union
des Refusés. In this broadcast Paweł Sochacki, María Inés Plaza Lazo and Alina
Kolar introduce the novel idea, structure, and practice of this global
organization for art workers to find fair working conditions, as well as
relations of trust, to divorce from the speculative and toxic entanglements of
the so-called art world.
