Digital music collections and especially metadata allow you to make some unusual musical connections, track length for example. Many artists make skits, short sketches, and intros that don’t develop into full tracks but function instead as interludes. Such tracks are interesting in their own right but don’t really develop or go anywhere. “Until It Appears” collects 300 of such tracks assembling them through logics of harmony, dynamics, humor and poetry into a 1 hour mix that attempts the impossibility of some sort of coherence.
