This month I decided to focus on the vibrant and magical Lebanese scene,
suffering since one year from the economic collapse of the country, and years
from the corruption of the warlords in power. Half of the treatments and
medicines are available in hospitals and nobody can even afford food groceries.
The people are left alone, they can rely on nothing but themselves.
Moreover, the massive explosion that tore through the port of Beirut on the
evening of August 4 left more than 200 people dead, 6,000 injured, and a quarter
of a million homeless. It hit the core of the Lebanese creative scene, whose
neighbourhoods, studios, clubs, venues, museums were on the frontline or the
blast. Many said the blast did more damage in a few seconds than 15 years of
