Description
From the murky swamps of the Louisiana Bayou arose a unique style of the Blues.
Drawing influences from local Cajun and Zydeco music, it implements a slow tempo
and a more rhythmic focus. It is also characterized by the so-called "Excello
Sound" (A Record Label that released most of the Records that fall under the
"swamp blues" category) which involves "eerie echo, shuffle beats, tremolo
guitars, searing harmonica and sparse percussion". Many swamp blues classic went
on to heavily influence the British blues scene.
