Once again world music presenter Glyn Phillips takes you another global outing, this time visiting South Africa, Senegal and the Congo, Canada, The US, Brazil and Cuba, as well as various Balkan countries, Syria, Galicia, Hungary and Sweden. It's a mixed bag of styles and genres, of sweet and sour, of rough and smooth...
But - as with all journeys - it's full of adventures and experiences! Glyn pays homage to the late, great Papa Wemba, features upcoming gigs in Birmingham (including Syrian kanun maestra, Maya Youssef) and delves into the sub-genres of 'bloodgrass'(!), 'samba suja' (dirty samba) and psychedelic cumbia.
