Description
Glyn kicks off with the new album by Senegalese superstar, Youssou N'dour, before going on a global trip that takes in old and new carimbó from the mouth of the Amazon River, superfast joropo from the banks of the Orinoco River and mowing songs from the meadows of Moravia!
There's also a look at three different musical faces of Canada (Nova Scotian folk, Quebecois folk and Canadian bluegrass), Danish Balkan music, Chinese guqin, Scottish music from the Isle of Lewis to Boston in the USA, English Morris Dance, Japanese minyo with a salsa twist, psychedelic cumbia from Perú, and a great collaboration looking at nomad culture that combines sound of Tuvan Throat Singing with Saharan desert blues.
Finally, there's Cuba's Chano Pozo, Finnish vocalists Tuuletar, English folkers Edgelarks, Chinese experimentalist Park Jiha and the globe-trotting world music fusionista Far Flown Falcon!
NB: "Da Garrafa uma pinga" is by Verequete e O Conjunto Uirapurú NOT Os Muiraquitãns as stated in show!
