Description
In July's show Glyn takes a more leisurely look at some new album and singles releases from around the world. There's quite an African influence on the show with the Album of the Month being Ssewa Ssewa's 'Nva K'la: Grooves from Kampala, Uganda' and also features on French-Moroccan band Bab l'Bluz, Zimbabwe's Vusa Mkhaya, Nigeria's Etuk Ubong and a special reissue of São Tomean artist Pedro Lima's 1985 album Maguidala.
There's Brazilian music from composers André Abujamra and Edson Natale and latin connections through Colombia's Ghetto Kumbé, Honduran singer Nohe y sus Santos, and the Spanish-influenced Sephardic Jewish music of Ana Maria Ruimonte & Alan Lewine.
Mixed in with all this are new releases from Americana singer-songwriters, G. F. Patrick and Ron Hubbard, a remix of the last album by Finnish mother-and-daughter duo Solju from the Sami communities of the far North of Europe, muscovite psych-folk rockers Lucidvox and a piece from Yuval Ron's Four Divine States of Mind.
