Description
Brum Radio's Glyn Phillips presents a post-election show full of new world music releases. There's a heavy latin element to the show with re-releases of albums by Pedro Laza and Lisandro Meza from the 60s and 70s from the Discos Fuentes vaults, 1964 Peruvian outfit Los Gatos Blancos, a Joe Bataan-produced album by LaSo from 1977 and some bang-up-to-date technoselva from Mitú.
He features more tracks from the retrospective compilation Pop Makossa with music from late 70s and early 80s Cameroon as well as the brand new albums from the belgo-burkinabé band Afrikan Protokol, Sierra Leone's Kondi Band and Nigeria's Sonia Aimy.
North America is admirably represented this week with music by Annie Keating, Steve Mayone, Mahadev, Michael Gaither, Sam Baker and Sam Gleaves & Tyler Hughes.
Finally, Glyn dons his beret to take a look at the French connection with Old School Funky Family from Bayonne and Gemma & The Travellers from Brittany.
