Description
As an accompaniment to his Best Albums of 2017, Glyn Phillips takes a look at the many singles and EPs sent to him from around the world during 2017 and spins some of his favourites!
There's music from one side of the world to the other with tracks from Australia's The Do Yo Thangs and the UKs Carvalho and Addictive TV; from Japan's Nautilus to the USA's Rhiannon Giddens, Gringa and Anna & Elizabeth; from Finland's Helsinki Cotonou Ensemble to Brazil's Luiz Carlos Borges and loads of electro-folclor from Argentina, Ecuador and Colombia.
The Caribbean is also in evidence with Jamaica's Innadeyard project and the Havana Meets Kingston Project. And there's a whole heap of European world music coming out of Germany, France and Holland amongst many other gems.
There's more of an urban and jazz vibe to this singles show than the Best Albums one.
