Description
Glyn Phillips is back with another two hours of music gleaned from around the world, in the month that kids in UK go back to school.
There's desert rock from Mauretania, electro-indigenous grooves from Ecuador, all kinds of americana (country gospel, Louisiana blues-funk, zydeco, bluegrass...), changüí from Los Angeles, Cameroonian-Cuban fusion, and some classic salsa dura from Ray Barretto!
I'll also take a look at the Belgian 'popcorn' craze of the 60s and 70s, some psychedelic rare grooves from the same period, a new album by a Swedish/Slovenian/Brazilian fusion trio, a return trip to the beautiful voice of Cuba's Erick Jon, a couple of tracks from the new album by the Renegades of Jazz, a preview of an anthology of Brian Auger's material, and finishing off with some older world-jazz fusions, just for the sake of it!
