Description
On the first of TWO full-length, 2 hour WorldBeatUK shows this month, Glyn begins to sift through the deluge of new, recent and forthcoming releases world music releases from around the globe.
There's a very heavy African presence on this first show with music from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Somalia, Mali, Mauritius and Senegalese and Congolese artists living abroad. There's also a small focus on the far East of Asia with music from China and a Franco-Korean collaboration.
As well as this, Glyn checks out some fusions and collaborations between reggae and latin and plays three tracks from his featured album Rhapsodic by the French composer Nicolas Repac.
Mixed in with all this is a contemporary Cuban recreation of the works of Pérez Prado, Finnish accordion mixed with an anvil, seasick Belgians, Desert Daughters and much more!
