Description
August’s guest is CHRIS WOOD, a keen observer of modern day Britain. A singer songwriter, guitarist and fiddler who’s won multiple BBC Folk awards whilst his music has been described as British Soul.
I find his album So Much To Defend to be a really uplifting listen - quite a romantic record - all the songs are steeped in love, even the angry ones. When I first discovered it, it felt so good to hear a record that illuminated the Britain I see - the highs and the lows, peppered with good humour, and of course narrated with the rich harmony of Chris’s chord choices and melody writing.
Chris plays the Kitchen Garden Cafe in Birmingham on Sunday October 5th
“Life is not boxes its much more about the way that things overlap. That's why I struggle with the binary nature of a lot of processed music”
