Love Hertz Windrush Special with Shelley and Reed Bass (07/09/2023)

Join us for a special Windrush special, to celebrate the 75th anniversary. This show explores the journey of Jamaican music (well a small part of it at least!) from mento and Goombay to digital Dancehall. We are also joined by special guest, Reed Bass, who is a musical director and part of the wonderful theatre show 'Rush: A Joyous Journey Through Jamaican Music', which tells of the journey of Jamica since it's (accidental) discovery by Colombus. It celebrates the contribution of people from the Caribbean, the interesting journey music of that region has taken and more. Be uplifted by this snapshot of amazing music, which has shaped dancehalls all over the world and many a Birmingham household. This music is part of Brum's DNA!
