Joining Rick Sanders on Brum Radio Poets this month: Clive Birnie A poet-artist-printmaker who works in both text and visual media. He finds inspiration at a place where poetry and art collide into something which gets called text-based-art but sometimes he types up the results as narrative poems and reads them to audiences. His latest book Palimpsest is part of Verve Poetry Press’s experimental pamphlet series (for which they received the 2019 the Michael Marks Publisher’s Award).
Fergus McGonigal
Fergus was Worcestershire Poet Laureate for 2014-15. He ran the Worcester ‘SpeakEasy’ poetry night for the Worcestershire LitFest and Fringe for three years before setting up Birmingham’s ‘Licensed to Rhyme’ with Maggie Doyle and Spoz: quick plug – Licensed to Rhyme runs on the second Monday of every month at Joe Joe Jim’s bar in Cofton Hackett.. His most recent collection, ‘Writing With My Elsewhere Head’, was a sideways response to his experiences with manic-depression.
