The pulsing tremolo of a Vibraphone can induce a simmering feeling of ease, like the satisfaction of throwing the last piece of wood on a smoldering bonfire. I've spent the last few months collecting tracks outside of the jazz, classical, exotica, and bossa nova worlds in which the instrument is traditionally heard, crediting everyone from Leon Russel to Tristan Fry 'on the vibes'. Distilled into a cohesive hour, I humbly present Vibraphone Variations, a program for the wonderful folks @radioalhara. Thanks as always for listening.
The poem read over "Sylvie" is an interpolation of Song XVII from the Rabindranath Tagore translation of The Songs Of Kabir.
