In May 1978, Bowie travelled to the Beat Club studios in Bremen to appear in a “live in the studio” special for the fabled program. The show was originally broadcast on 4 August 1978.As always, Bowie is more than ably supported by his superb backing band, which here includes Adrian Belew on electric guitar; George Murray on bass guitar; Carlos Alomar on rhythm guitar; Dennis Davis on drums; Simon House on violin; Sean Mayes on piano and strings; and Roger Powell on keyboards and synthesizers.The set is a cut-down version of the Isolar II show that was being toured at the time. The following night the band played in Copenhagen. Der Musikladen (German: The Music Shop) was a West German music television programme that ran from 13 December 1972 to 29 November 1984.
