When the man fell to Earth he took with him the dozens of personae and personalities with which he worked and entertained and lived over a half-century: the spangled and cosmically androgynous Ziggy Stardust and the bespoke suit-wearing gentlemanly Thin White Duke and so many others.His life went through a costume/lifestyle change with practically each of his 30-plus records and nearly as many film roles.The sole persona he brought to Long Beach was probably his most impactful, memorable, and if it’s not too high-flown to say, important.His lone Long Beach show was at the Arena on March 10, 1973, when he was in the midst of full-on Ziggy and moving toward Aladdin Sane.
