Bowie and the Spiders From Mars performed at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 8 July 1972 It was the 45th date of the Ziggy Stardust Tour, which had begun on 29 January. This was a benefit show for Friends Of The Earth. Tickets were priced from 50 pence to £2, with proceeds going to the charity’s Save the Whale campaign.The support acts were Marmalade and the JSD Band, and the compere was Kenny Everett.
