Bowie appeared as part of the Tribeca Film Festival’s “MTV Rock and Comedy Concert.” This wouldn’t seem all that notable except for an interview he gave to a local cable crew in which he greeted the interviewer (and audience) with “Hi, I’m your next-door neighbor” and went on to talk earnestly about the efforts to revitalize downtown New York after 9-11.
