Our 20th ride around the musical far side ventures across the channel to our continent.
My guest and our guide, is DJ, crate-digger supreme, and actual Hungarian, David Loja
We'll travel through time and space, looking at music from across the decades and continent. We start in the sixties from David's home country Hungary, and then go through Bulgaria and Yugoslavia, before we break through the Berlin wall into the 80’s and 90’s, and into Germany, France, Italy and Spain. Most of the tunes have a dance/club culture edge, but we also drop some synth pop, folk, new wave and of course, disco.
We’ll talk to David about the music, a little bit about what it was like growing up in Hungary after the fall of communism, first influences and how he got into digging, and just how deep he’s dug.
