Description
You might have missed it, what with all else that is going on in the world right now, but on 'National Album Day' Radio 2 listeners voted "in their thousands" for the best album of the 1980s: their top two was U2's 'The Joshua Tree' and Dire Straits' 'Brothers In Arms'. Some corkers made it through the collective amnesia but a lot of horrors, according to these musical connoisseurs, seemingly improved through age: Kylie's debut, 'Raintown' by Deacon Blue... Where was 'The Cactus Album'? Who could forget 'London 0 Hull 4'? Where in the name of all that is holy was '3 Feet High and Rising'?
So, in lieu of a normal show, tonight's sees a (now rare) 80s special from Steve KIW on the BAOL show as he selects (some of*) his favourite albums from the greatest decade in pop.
